Wills

Making a will gives legal effect to what you intend to do with your assets or possessions upon your death.  We never know the hour nor the day we may die and it can be very important to provide for our families by making a will.  This can prevent tension within larger families and can protect young children.  In addition, it can be a tax efficient way of passing on our assets.  A will can be a very straight forward matter or it can be as complicated as the affairs of the party making it.  It is important to seek legal advice in relation to making a will or the administration of an estate and we strongly encourage all our clients to make wills.

Following the death of a loved one, a number of issues of concern arise regarding the deceased's bank accounts and how to deal with or protect assets including businesses. Often it is necessary to determine what to do with assets owned jointly with another person.  Tax issues frequently arise.  We provide a sensitive and prompt service attending to the legal formalities which arise following a death and in dealing with the many different agencies, issues and obligations which arise.
